On March 30, 2026, as part of measures by Narita International Airport Corporation (NAA) to secure and promote the settlement of foreign talent, we conducted an interview survey of 120 healthcare professionals working at Narita Red Cross Hospital.
In recent years, as communities and healthcare settings accept more foreign talent, they are being asked to address multifaceted challenges beyond workplace development, including daily-life support, regional settlement, and connections to healthcare-delivery systems. In highly international areas where diverse people gather, such as the area surrounding Narita Airport, creating an environment in which foreign talent can work and continue living with peace of mind is an important policy issue.
In this survey, healthcare professionals working at Narita Red Cross Hospital were interviewed from practical and specific perspectives about on-site perceptions regarding the acceptance of foreign talent, support-related challenges, and measures considered necessary to promote settlement. Healthcare is an important field that supports not only the health of foreign workers themselves but also the foundation of security and safety in the local community. Understanding this knowledge is highly significant for future system design and consideration of support structures.
The findings obtained through this survey are expected to serve as foundational materials for making Narita International Airport Corporation's measures to secure and promote the settlement of foreign talent more effective. In particular, by carefully organizing challenges and support needs seen from the healthcare setting, it becomes possible to move beyond employment support and develop a receiving environment that considers people's lives as a whole.
We will continue providing integrated support from interview and questionnaire surveys through qualitative analysis, statistical analysis, and report preparation, contributing to more advanced regional policy and practical measures.
