Outreach Class — Hokubu Junior High School, Noda City “Field Trip Pre-Departure Briefing” - Noda City Northern Junior High School

Outreach Class Conducted at Hokubu Junior High School, Noda City [December 11, 2025]

On December 11, 2025, E-LINE Co., Ltd. conducted an outreach class at Hokubu Junior High School in Noda City on 'Thinking About Information Communication Through Web Development and Illustration.' Students learned how information is communicated online while experiencing design expression that effectively conveys their ideas through web pages and illustrations.

Lesson Objectives

• Understand how websites are structured
• Learn basic design principles, such as color schemes and layout, that communicate effectively to viewers
• Express one's own ideas through illustrations and character design
• Work as a team to structure a web page that communicates a clear message
Drawing on expertise in web and illustration production from our daily work, E-LINE instructors explained basic design principles such as color schemes, composition, and visual guidance, as well as how web pages are actually constructed. They also demonstrated the illustration-production process and used examples to show how line thickness and color choices change the overall impression. Students became interested in the 'design intentions' behind familiar websites and social-media posts and asked questions actively.

How the Students Participated

During the lesson, comments such as, 'This color stands out, but it may be hard to read' and 'Changing the text placement made it easier to understand' were heard one after another, as students considered 'effective expression' through design. In the latter half, each group selected a theme and created a layout modeled on a website home page, combining illustrations to express their own group identity.
It was impressive to see students repeatedly experimenting, saying things such as, 'This character makes it feel more approachable!' and 'Changing the background color completely changes the impression!' When they presented their completed works, classmates applauded one another, and comments included, 'I'm happy that the picture I drew can be used in web design' and 'I'd like to try this kind of job in the future.'
